New Zealand Government Announces Humanitarian Assistance in Response to the Devastating Earthquake

Yesterday the New Zealand Government released a statement regarding humanitarian support in response to the devastating earthquake in Morocco last Friday night.

The statement specified that the Government would be making a contribution of $1 million to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). The IFRC will work with the Moroccan Red Crescent to deliver essential items such as tents, blankets, and food in order to provide lifesaving medical assistance, protection, and psychological support for those who need it most.

The statement proceeded by saying that “Aotearoa New Zealand stands ready to consider requests for assistance from the Government of Morocco.” We greatly welcome the kind aid and support from the New Zealand Government during this tragic and difficult time.
