2023 FIFA Women's World Cup - Announcement of a Fourth Moroccan Referee

The countdown to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup is on. We are looking forward to seeing the Atlas Lionesses play down under for their first game against Germany on July 24th in Melbourne.

This will be the first time that the Lionesses will participate in this prestigious World Cup, and it will be an honour to see them play here in Australia and New Zealand.

With less than three months to go, FIFA has announced that they are appointing a fourth Moroccan referee for the tournament. Bouchra Karboubi has been selected alongside Fatiha Jermoumi, Soukaina Hamdi, and Adil Zourak. Bouchra is an experienced referee, and was the first woman to lead a match in the Botola, the top-tier men’s football championship in Morocco.
